I'm surprised you even had any of that stuff. The starter and sender maybe since they were probably used on more than that car, but interior parts...

note to self: do not try to restore a Bertone 780

Soooome. There are very few parts available for the interior and even then, they are usually on back order sometimes for months. All coming form Europe or somewhere .

I'm not at Mercedes today, but if a SLR needs a break job, I could measure that in CLA 250's :] Don't get me started if a new Vanquish has a small fender bender...

or an old Lagonda. We have a car here FOR OVER A YEAR!!! waiting on Aston to send us a wiring diagram and a few small parts... no you did not read that incorrectly

I can believe it!

I'm having enough trouble getting one part for a 10 year old common car haha. The parts guy had no idea what I was talking about in the last dealer I went to, although I don't blame him it's an obscure piece.

The Brits used wiring diagrams? I always assumed that they improvised each time.

UP-freaking-HOLSTERY 1273,50?!?!
What is it made of? Braided unicorn eyelashes?

LOL!!! Best material ever :] Actually, when the front seat upholstery was still available, it was closer to $3,000 each side

Fiat did that with my car. "Just putta that wire there so we can go getta the pizza."

Do they even HAVE a wiring diagram for the Lagonda? I thought they sorta just stuffed the wires in them and hoped for the best?

lol it really seems like it.

The door panels and upholstery are exclusive, so I understand how those would be more expensive... And, the OEM in-tank sender includes the in-tank pump, so that explains that, although to be honest, a used one from a 760 works just as well.
The starter, depends on whether it's a B280 or a B230, but the B280 part is much harder to get used.

It's hand-stitched Italian leather. Very expensive.

780s aren't bad, or, at least the turbo ones aren't. Mechanically, it's a 760. Yes, body panels are unobtanium, but they aren't hard to work on or with.

yup B280F. When the front leather was still available, they were close to $3,000 by the end

I pity the B280 780 owners... I have two good friends with turbo 780s, on the other hand, and they love their cars... Of course, one of those friends has two '89s, both in blue pearl. The other has a minty red pearl '90, with intact front airdam, to go with his MR-S and his '79 Prelude.

Even this doesn't make me forgive a local to my hometown stealership for not budging on a price of a white 780... FOR 10 YEARS, only to let it be crushed. If you can't sell a car, and it sits around until it no longer runs, maybe you need to lower the price.

Admittedly they did come down from 10k to 7.5k, but for a non-running Volvo of that vintage, in the midst of the market crash, was fucking insane.
